Amarnath Yatra 2026: Devotees Return with Faith and Joy | English News Script

The first two days of the Amarnath Yatra 2026 have witnessed an overwhelming response from devotees. Thousands of pilgrims have already completed the sacred pilgrimage, with many describing the experience as spiritually uplifting and unforgettable.

Let’s hear from some of the devotees who have returned after having darshan.

Neelam, a first-time pilgrim, said:

“My name is Neelam. After having Baba Amarnath’s darshan, all my tiredness simply disappeared. It felt like every hardship was worth it. This was my first visit, but now I feel like I want to come back every year.”

Another devotee shared her experience:

“This is my third Amarnath Yatra. Every year I pray that Baba calls me again. His blessings make me feel as though I have achieved everything in life. The experience is beyond words.”

The smiles and satisfaction on the faces of returning pilgrims clearly reflect the deep spiritual fulfillment they experienced.

The 57-day Amarnath Yatra is now underway, and authorities expect a record number of devotees to participate this year.

Extensive arrangements have been made for accommodation, security, medical assistance, and crowd management. Weather conditions have also remained largely favorable during the first two days of the pilgrimage.

Today marks the second day of the Yatra, and enthusiasm among pilgrims remains exceptionally high.

Thousands of devotees have already started their journey towards the holy Amarnath Cave from both the Baltal and Pahalgam routes.

Pilgrims were allowed to proceed from both base camps from 4:00 AM after completing mandatory security and registration formalities.

Unlike previous years, authorities have implemented stricter crowd management measures. Devotees are being allowed to proceed in regulated batches to ensure both safety and a smooth pilgrimage experience.

Speaking to Anil Kumar, a pilgrim from Dehradun, Uttarakhand, he said:

“The weather is pleasant, and arrangements are good. However, there is a huge crowd. We’ve been standing in the queue since 2:00 AM.”

Even by 8:00 AM, long queues continued at the registration and security checkpoints.

Every pilgrim must undergo document verification, RFID card checks, and security screening before being allowed to proceed towards the holy cave.

Officials have made it clear that this year’s Yatra is being conducted under strict guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of all pilgrims.

With clear skies replacing yesterday’s rain, authorities remain optimistic that today’s footfall will match the nearly 20,000 pilgrims who undertook the journey on the opening day.

As the pilgrimage continues over the coming weeks, officials expect thousands more devotees to arrive each day, making this one of the largest Amarnath Yatras in recent years.
